APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS - ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-2018

STEP 1 - REVIEW ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Please review the program eligibility and application requirements on our website (www.ieaw.org/apply) as well as all deadlines for submission which follow below.
If you cannot comply with all of the application requirements or provide all required supporting documents by published deadlines, please do not proceed to Step 2 as your application will not be considered.


STEP 2 - CREATE REVIEW ROOM ACCOUNT

Please click on the signup button at the top of this page to create your personal and confidential account. You will receive an email confirming your registration from noreply@fluidreview.com.
Please add noreply@fluidreview.com to your email safe sender list and check your email junk folder to ensure our emails reach you. Please note your password must be 8 characters long and you will need to upload a picture or webcam picture to proceed.

STEP 3 - COMPLETE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

Please continue to the online form to provide all requested basic profile and general application information.
Your personal site and the information you upload to it will remain secure. Please follow all directions provided on the application website to ensure the information you submit is complete and correct.

STEP 4 - UPLOAD SUPPORTING MATERIALS

Please follow the instructions you see when you log in to upload requested materials in support of your application.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY*

Gender

Candidates must be female to be considered for our program.

Grades
Candidates must have achieved mostly A's or B's (or grades between 85 to 100) in all classes.

TOEFL Scores
Only candidates holding an official score of at least 550 (paper test), 80 (internet test) or 213 (computer test) will be considered for admission to our program. Students must take the exam and recieve a score before their applications will be reviewed for consideration. Please see the table below for locations and dates for this year's TOEFL examination. You must be fluent in the English language.
 
Residency
You and your family must be full-time and permanent residents of Afghanistan.
 
Return to Afghanistan
You must be able to demonstrate your 100% dedication, willingness and ability to return to Afghanistan during the summer breaks and after graduation.
 
Family Support
You must have family or full time guardians currently residing in Afghanistan who fully support your quest for higher education in the United States and your return to Afghanistan during the summer breaks and after graduation.

Application Timeline
Please refer to the stage deadlines below. Successful candidates must have met all deadlines of the application process to be considered for admission to the The Initiative To Educate Afghan Women program.

* Please note program eligibility is evaluated on a continual basis throughout the duration of our four-year program. Failure to meet a program eligibility requirement at any time may result in separation from the program.


APPLICATION DEADLINES
Candidates must complete and upload copies of the following documents for review and consideration by the following deadlines:
 
Phase One (Deadline - 10/31/2016)
  • Completed The Initiative To Educate Afghan Women online application/biographical information form and picture (shoulders and upward)
  • Current resume or curriculum vitae
  • Official school transcripts from grades 10, 11 and 12 as well as any completed university (all translated and certified by the Ministry of Education) 
Phase Two (Deadline – 11/15/2016 TOEFL Score - 11/30/2016)
  • Two (2) letters of reference/recommendation from employers or teachers familiar with the student's work 
  • Official TOEFL scores  
Phase Three (Deadline - 12/15/2016)
  • Skype Interview
  • In Person Interview (Afghanistan)
Phase Four Semi-Finalists (Deadline - 12/25/16)

  • College Application
Class of 2021 Announced Before 04/01/2017
